Polymeric arsenicals are emerging as an interesting platform for functional and (re)active materials in the field of polymer (bio)materials science. Through exploiting diverse distinct reactivity organic As(V), As(III) As(I) oxidation states efficient methods bioconjugation well hydrogel nanoparticles formation have been reported. Here we expand on this body work by reporting synthesis new amphiphilic block copolymeric with a target composition P((DMAm100-X-co-AsAmX)-b-DAAm100) (P1, X = 0; P2, 5; P3, 20) which form (NP1–NP3; Dh 49–71 nm) upon self-assembly water. The mole fraction AsAm monomer appears to effect particle morphology stability, stability decreasing function corona. (As(V)) group has exploited modify corona functionality via direct reduction (NPRed) sequential thiol substitution (NPGSH). resulting As(III)-functionalised exhibited concentration-dependent toxicity against human prostate adenocarcinoma epithelia cell (PC-3) alluding future development these particles mono- or combination therapy within appropriate nanoparticle formulations.
